The eldest, impatient, quickly erected a straw house. The cautious second brother used recycled wood to build a wooden house. The prudent youngest brother built a sturdy stone house from river rocks and mud.
Soon, a hungry gray wolf appeared. He easily destroyed the straw and wooden houses, causing the eldest and second brothers to flee in panic to the youngest brother’s stone house. The youngest brother was prepared and decided to teach the gray wolf a profound lesson. If their plan succeeded, they could drive the wolf away forever, allowing all the small animals to live in peace.
